A 32-year-old man, Akoto Nelson, has been arrested for posing as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) at the just ended ShattaFest to celebrate the birthday of Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale.

According to police sources, Akoto allegedly impersonated a deceased officer and wore his uniform to the programme at the Black Star Square.
Preliminary investigations revealed that he works as a security guard and a messenger at a private company.

Items retrieved from Akoto’s residence include one toy P99 pistol, one pepper spray, two ZTE mini handsets, one pepper spray pouch, one ZTE charger, one Xinfa cutter knife and some complimentary cards.

He is currently in police custody.
