Man arrested for swapping ATM of Ex fire officer and withdrawing entire retirement savings

A resident of Ashaley Botwey identified as Reagan Kwasi Egbi Addo AKA Morgan Addo is alleged to have swapped the ATM card of a retired Fire Service officer, one of his several victims, withdrawing his entire retirement savings.

Investigations revealed that, the suspect employs deceptive methods to steal ATM Cards, allegedly manipulating situations at ATM locations to make it difficult for users to make transactions. He then approaches the victims under the pretext of offering help and swap their cards to steal their money.

Reports susggest that the suspect has withdrawn several amounts of money using stolen ATM cards at different locations.

A search at his residence led to the discovery of eight ATM cards.

He is said to have been on police wanted list for theft, and was arrested at the Diaspora Summit 2025 while posing as a legitimate participant to steal.

According to police, he was found wearing an official summit tag but upon interrogation, he failed to provide credible information for his presence at the event.

Addo is suspected of stealing valuables during conference meetings by accessing participants bags and laptops during breaks

He is currently in police custody as further investigations continue.
