The Ayi Mansah Police on October 14, 2021, around 10:00 p.m. arrested a man in an attempt to bury a pot believed to be ‘juju’ in a neighbour’s house at Damfa in the Adentan Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
According to the Ayi Mensah Police Commander, ACP Edward Tetteh, the police arrested one Francis Kofi Dzakpata at Damfa, who was allegedly seen around 10:00 p.m. entering Mr. Yaw Segbwu’s house holding a black pot believed to be ‘juju’ covered with red cloth.
ACP Tetteh said the case has been processed for the accused person to reappear at the Adentan Court.
Speaking to the Republic Press, Mr. Segbawu, also a resident of Damfa said on October 14, 2021, at around 10:00 p.m. Dzakpata drove his Toyota Fortuner with registration number GH 2046-12 and parked the car in front of the victim’s house.
He said the accused person came out of the car holding a pot, walked to the gate and started digging the ground to bury the object.
But while on the process, Mr. Segbawu said some neighbours who were coming to my house saw him and raised alarm by shouting to attract the landlord’s attention.
He said he immediately came out of the room to see the accused holding the juju and upon enquiry, he said the pot was given to him by a man who he refused to mention his name.
“We discovered three pieces of papers in the pot containing my name, Mr. Kotei Francis and one Mr. Adjetey Brown with inscription that the ancestors should call us immediately to the cemetery.
“It was there we placed a call to the police patrol team to arrest him and he was subsequently granted bill waiting to reappear in court,” he stated.
When asked whether the two have any issues, Mr Segbawu said the only problem existing between them is a one acre land at the back of his house.
“It started late last year where the police after investigations asked me to go and take the land because I have the necessary documents which make me the rightful owner.” He stated.
