A man identified as Jay Henry and believed to be in his 40s has shot himself to death in his home at Nkensinkrom in the Atwima Mponua district of Ashanti region.
On the afternoon of Wednesday, February 16, the deceased, Jay Helle locked himself in his room after ordering his 13-year-son to go and play football.
Report indicates that the deceased placed the gun in his mouth and used his leg to press the shoot button.
According to his son, Kwaku Godfred while he was on his way to play football, he heard a gunshot which made him panic.
His worst fear was confirmed when the door was forced open only to see his father lying in a pool of blood.
Additional information gathered indicates that his wife Yaa Abro was on their farmyard harvesting some foodstuffs when the incident happened.
He left seven (7) children behind.
Meanwhile, the body has been deposited at the Nyinahini Hospital morgue.
