An indebted young man frustrated by his girlfriend’s decision to call it quits after allegedly taking care of her with loans has threatened to commit suicide.

According to Wisdom Tege, he has spent his life savings to fund his girlfriend’s hair dressing apprenticeship for three years after which he set her up in business.

He said he rented a shop for her and equipped it.

Wisdom said he took loans to augment his savings from the delivery job to give his girlfriend, Xorlali and their two children a better life.

The 33-year-old man said he has now become jobless because the motorbike he used to ply his business has broken down. Now, repaying the loans which accumulated up to GHC8,000 has become a burden.

Wisdom told Crime Check TV Gh that he has been arrested on several occasions due to his inability to repay the loans.

Even after all his efforts to make like easy for Xorlali and the children, it has not been appreciated, he said.

Xorlali, he said has left him for another man.

Wisdom said Xorlali told him he is no longer her type of man because he could not meet her needs. This he says has dealt a big blow to him.

He says he now roams around trying to find labourer jobs at construction sites to be able to take care of the children.

When Crime Check TV Gh contacted Xorlali, she bluntly said Wisdom is useless and a lazy man who should find something better to do to improve himself.

According to her, though Wisdom gave her ‘chop money’ he did not fund her apprenticeship.

She claimed that while she was pregnant for Wisdom, she went to the market to work and solely did not depend on Wisdom’s handouts.

As for the shop, Xorlali said she rented it through her own efforts and that she could not give birth for a man who was not her husband and leave empty handed.
