About 30 land guards have allegedly attacked some residents and developers working on their lands at Manhean in the Greater Accra Region.
According to residents, the land guards are preventing them from developing and selling their lands.
The angry youth also bemoaned that the land guards are destroying thousands of properties and brutalising developers, a situation they described as worrying.
In an interview with Mr. Kingsford Takyi Yankson, Director of Unikings Ventures Limited, a private developer who had been authorised by the Kwaku Datre family of Manhean to work on land, the leader of the land guards, Abu Majeed, has defied the Sowutuom High Court Court injunction order and is still chasing and terrorising residents and developers away from their land.
Mr. Takyi Yankson added that the activities of the land guards have persisted for a very long time hence they are calling on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to come to their rescue.
“We are calling on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the IGP to come to the aid of Manhean residents and chiefs”, he stressed.
