The Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) has dismissed circulating social media reports alleging that the institution owes employees six months’ worth of unpaid salaries.
In a statement issued on Friday, November 21, 2025, management described the claims shared in a Facebook post as false, misleading, and inconsistent with the organisation’s operations.
According to the statement, MASLOC has not defaulted on staff salaries, and the assertion that workers are owed several months of arrears “does not reflect any situation within the organization.” Management said the publication appears to be a deliberate attempt to misinform the public and create unwarranted disaffection toward the institution.
MASLOC emphasised that it maintains continuous engagement with staff on administrative and welfare matters, adding that no concerns relating to salary delays had arisen to justify the claims being circulated online.
The organization, therefore, urged the public to disregard the rumour entirely, stressing that it remains committed to upholding transparent internal communication and ensuring that staff welfare remains a priority.
In a related development, MASLOC participated earlier in the Dual Launch of the Sustained Tax Education Programme and the Modified Taxation Scheme organised by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
The Chief Executive Officer, Madam Abigail Elorm Mensah, was represented at the event by the Deputy CEO in charge of Operations, Madam Vivian Owusu-Asante, underscoring MASLOC’s support for national initiatives designed to expand financial literacy and strengthen micro-enterprise compliance.
According to officials at the event, the initiative seeks to broaden the tax net, particularly among individuals and small-scale businesses in the informal sector. This category includes traders and market women—groups that form a substantial portion of the clients MASLOC serves through its microcredit programmes.
The new tax education drive aims to encourage fairness and equity in the national revenue system by ensuring that all economically active Ghanaians make a reasonable contribution to national development.
MASLOC reiterated that its operations continue to prioritise accountability, transparency, and partnership with public-sector institutions working toward economic stability and inclusive growth.
