Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for McDan Group of Companies, Daniel McKorley has cut sod for the construction of lecture halls for the Catholic University Ghana (CUG) at Fiapre near Sunyani.
The two-storey lecture hall is expected to be completed within 12 months and will constitute offices for the Journalism department of the University.
The lecture hall will also constitute a campus radio studio which will also serve as a practice facility for the University’s BSc Journalism Programme.
According to McDan, the project is a promise he made to the University to support them with infrastructure to aid the student population.
The Vice-Chancellor for the University, Professor Daniel Kwabena Obeng-Ofori expressed gratitude to the McDan Foundation and promised to work harder as a University to help the educational sector.
Professor Obeng-Ofori also added that the University is also working hard to construct a campus clinic and a Police post to improve health and security respectively.
He further urged local and international investors to invest in the University.
