He said in October 2020, the accused person met the victim at her grandmother’s funeral in Adeiso and proposed to her, which the victim initially rejected.

The prosecutor said on the same day in the evening around 7:00pm when the victim was sent to go and fetch water in a nearby house, the accused chased her and lured her into a nearby School block, and forcibly had sex with her.

According to the prosecution statement, on 24th May 2021, the victim fell sick and was taken to hospital and after check-up, the nurses revealed that the victim has been defiled and was having complications in the abdomen.

When the victim was interrogated, she mentioned Maxwell Gavor as the culprit and he was later arrested and charged for defilement and sent to court for prosecution.
