The Apradang Methodist Child and Youth Development Centre, the children’s ministry wing of the Methodist Church, in partnership with Compassion International Ghana, is making remarkable strides in improving education, health, and livelihoods within the Apradang community.
Through funding from Compassion International’s Complementary Interventions (CIV) Program, the Centre has successfully completed and commissioned a modern 10-seater WC toilet facility for the Apradang Methodist Basic School.
In furthering teaching and learning, the Centre has also donated 127 dual classroom desks, 10 teacher-tables and 10 teacher-chairs to schools within the Apradang Electoral Area. Additionally, a lawnmower was presented to the Methodist Basic School, dustbins to three schools and painting support was provided to improve the school environment.
Beyond education, the Centre is also empowering caregivers through skills training, financial literacy workshops, and small business support programs, aimed at promoting economic independence among families. It also organises health education and screening exercises to improve the well-being of children and parents across the community.
These impactful initiatives, led under the pastoral supervision of Very Rev. Mark Abrefa and driven by the dedicated efforts of Mr Cornelius Agbovi Doh, the Project Director, who developed and implemented the proposals, have brought sustainable change and renewed hope to the Apradang Electoral Area.
Together with Compassion International Ghana, the Apradang Methodist Child and Youth Development Centre remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing education, health, and community development—building a brighter future for children, caregivers, and the entire Apradang community.
