In order to advance toward a full coaching license, the former Chelsea player joined the coaching staff of the Danish team Nordsjaelland for the 2020–2021 campaign after he acquired a Uefa B coaching license in 2018.

The 40-year-old had an impressive career in Europe, playing for clubs like Olympique Lyon, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Chelsea, with whom he won the Champions League in 2012.

He also featured twice for Ghana at the Germany 2006 and Brazil 2014 World Cup tournaments.
