In a bid to ensure sustainable land management and development in the Ahafo Mim of the Ahafo Region, the Mim Traditional Council, led by Mim Manhene Okofrobour Dr. Nana Yaw Agyei II, has taken a proactive step by inviting Ahafo Regional Officers from the Lands Commission and Stool Lands toprovide education and guidance to the community on the proper handling of their lands.
Mr. Joseph Arthur, a Lands Commission officer at Ahafo Goaso, emphasised the pivotal role of the Lands Commission in overseeing land matters. It is their responsibility to ensure that all lands are registered and maintained appropriately.
Mr. Arthur stressed that every citizen must pay grant rent annually, and failure to do so could result in the land being repossessed.
Salifu Mumuni, the Deputy Ahafo Regional Stool Lands Officer, underscored the importance of having proper land documentation. He highlighted that their role is to guide individuals in acquiring the necessary papers for their lands and rectify any errors in existing records.
This not only safeguards land ownership but also contributes to maintaining a clear and undisputed land ownership structure.
Mim Gyaasehene, Nana Agyapong Beedu Brobbey, assured that they would engage people on the new land laws.
