The Minerals Commission has announced a leadership transition in its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position, effective September 16, 2025.

According to a public announcement made on September 4, 2025, the current CEO, Mr. Martin Kwaku Ayisi, has been reassigned to serve as a Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.

The announcement was made by Hon. Yusif Sulemana, Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, during a joint management and staff meeting held on September 2, 2025.

This transition underscores the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening policy coordination and recognizes Mr. Ayisi’s expertise in mining regulation, governance, and institutional reforms.

In line with this transition, Mr. Isaac Tandoh, the current Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Small-scale and Industrial Minerals, has been appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, effective September 16, 2025. Mr. Tandoh brings over 23 years of high-level leadership experience in the mining industry to his new role.

Hon. Sulemana commended Mr. Martin Ayisi for his service and urged staff to remain calm, focused, and cooperative to ensure a seamless transition and maintain operational excellence. The Minerals Commission extended its best wishes to Mr. Ayisi in his new role and pledged full support to Mr. Tandoh as he assumes his new leadership responsibilities.

The announcement was signed by the Corporate Affairs and Information Technology Department of the Minerals Commission.
