The minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong has presented farm starter packs to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) to bolster Ghana’s agricultural sector.

Presenting the equipment to the YEA, Dr. Bryan Acheampong noted that government will also provide planters and harvesters to help mechanize the farming process for these young farmers.
This initiative is expected to increase agricultural productivity, reduce poverty, and create employment opportunities for young people in Ghana.
Launched by President Nana Akufo-Addo in October last year, the Youth in Agriculture programme is aimed motivating the youth to accept and choose a career in agriculture resulting in over 52,000 youth applying to participate in the program through the YEA.
The “Youth in Agriculture” program is a key component of the government’s efforts to transform the agricultural sector to achieve food security and empower young people with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to become successful farmers and entrepreneurs.
