Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has commended the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo) for its ongoing maintenance activities aimed at enhancing energy supply reliability.

The Minister made these remarks during a working visit to WAPCo’s Tema Regulating and Metering (R&M) Station on Friday.

The visit allowed Minister Jinapor to assess firsthand the progress of ongoing pigging operations and other key maintenance efforts at the facility.

He was accompanied by a delegation from the Energy Ministry and was welcomed by WAPCo’s Managing Director, Michelle Burkett, along with other top executives.

Ms. Burkett acknowledged the ministry’s crucial role in WAPCo’s success and expressed gratitude for the government’s continued support. She also recognized the contributions of the Volta River Authority (VRA) and the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), praising their responsiveness in ensuring seamless operations during the maintenance period.

During his visit, Minister Jinapor reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with WAPCo to improve Ghana’s energy infrastructure and security. He lauded the company’s efforts in maintaining operational excellence and expressed optimism about the successful completion of the ongoing projects.

As part of the visit, the Minister and his delegation toured the facility and received a briefing on the status of the maintenance activities.
