The Ministry of Education, led by Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has launched a new television station, “Channel MOE,” aimed at revolutionizing education in Ghana.
Inaugurated in Accra, the station will broadcast high-quality educational content to students, teachers, parents, and audiences globally. The initiative is designed to enhance teaching and learning while promoting equitable access to education.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Adutwum, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, expressed excitement over the station’s potential. He lauded the Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS), Nana Gyamfi Agyabour, and his team for their hard work in making the project a reality.
“This platform will allow lessons to be aired, enabling students who might have missed classroom sessions to catch up,” Dr. Adutwum said. He emphasized that the station would also highlight developments within the education sector and foster equality in education for all Ghanaian children, regardless of economic background.
The minister thanked development partners, including Plan International, UNICEF, and CEMFED Ghana, for their roles in the station’s procurement, installation, and testing.
Nana Gyamfi Agyabour described “Channel MOE” as a unique platform combining education and entertainment. He commended Dr. Adutwum’s leadership, which, he said, was instrumental in achieving this milestone.
Dr. Adutwum concluded by encouraging Ghanaians to support the government’s education initiatives and vote for the New Patriotic Party on December 7 to ensure the continuation of such transformative programs.
The launch of “Channel MOE” represents a major step in leveraging technology to provide accessible and quality education for all.
