The Ministry of Youth and Sports has condemned an attack on the Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Team's bus while they were returning to Ghana from Nigeria on Tuesday morning.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has condemned an attack on the Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Team’s bus while they were returning to Ghana from Nigeria on Tuesday morning.

The wheelchair tennis team was attacked by robbers on their way back to Ghana after competing in the 2023 International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Team Cup Africa qualifiers in Nigeria.

It was reported that three players sustained injuries, while their belongings were stolen from them by some unidentified men.

The ministry has since condemned the act and assured the team of their support.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports wishes send a get-well message to the injured players and sends its sympathy to the to the team.

“The Ministry wishes to state that our commitment is to ensure their safety and condemn the attacks in no uncertain terms.

“We are happy of their safe arrival in Ghana after the attacks and assure them of our support,” part of a statement read.
