Residents of Akyem Abuakwa North constituency in the Eastern Region have openly declared their support for Kofi Obeng Mensah to be appointed the next MCE for Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly by His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to supporters, a decision to reject Kofi Obeng Mensah will be the most unfortunate decision and a travesty of Justice to the people of Osiem, Old Tafo, Anyinasin, New Tafo , Atukrom , Tontro and Abuakwa North as a whole

“Abuakwa North constituency is one of the key strongholds of the NPP which has over the years contributed massively to NPP electoral fortunes since Prof. Albert Adu Boahen regime to president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s regime in terms of voters and voting We are pleading to the president to accept our plea and appoint Kofi Obeng Mensah for us.” They pleaded

Their reason for supporting Kofi Obeng Mensah’s appointment as the next MCE is because he is a resourceful, a proven team player, a grassroot person with an upright character and has good human relation.

The residents noted that though the president does not require permission from them to determine who to be appointed but as a constitutional right, he is allowed to select a candidate they all believe is the right person for the job.

Kofi Obeng Mensah is versatile and indeed a party faithful, lost the internal primaries to the incumbent MP and supported the president agenda by working hardly together with the MP to retain the party into victory. With the above mentioned he deserves to be appointed as the MCE for Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly.

He is a protege of family of great politicians including the renowned Ghanaian politician and Historian Prof. Albert Adu Boahene who was his grandfather, and the late former MP for the area Joseph Boakye Danquah, his nephew.

Mr Kofi Obeng-Mensah is a pharmacist by profession. He is also a pastor at the Spirit Reign Chapel, Accra. Mr Obeng-Mensah is a proud old student of Pope John’s Senior High School and an Alumnus of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
