The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) today, January 6, 2025 bid an emotional farewell to Dr. Bryan Acheampong, who has served as the sector’s minister for the past 18 months.
During a management meeting, the Chief Director and other senior officials praised his leadership and extended their best wishes as he exits his position.
Dr. Acheampong took office following the resignation of Dr. Afriyie Akoto and quickly set to work on transformative initiatives aimed at strengthening Ghana’s agricultural sector.
Under his leadership, the ministry implemented reforms that prioritized food security, enhanced agricultural productivity, and supported sustainable livelihoods for farmers nationwide.
In his farewell address, Dr. Acheampong expressed gratitude to the ministry’s staff and stakeholders, acknowledging their unwavering support in driving his agenda forward. Reflecting on his tenure, he said, “It has been a profound honor to serve this ministry and to work towards the revitalization of Ghana’s agriculture. Together, we have achieved significant milestones that will serve as a foundation for the sector’s future growth.”
Dr. Acheampong also highlighted the experiences and lessons gained during his time as minister, underscoring his dedication to public accountability and his commitment to ensuring that Ghana’s farmers benefit from innovative policies and programs.
The departing minister’s efforts have left an indelible mark on the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, as his reforms have been widely regarded as a cornerstone for building resilience in the nation’s agricultural systems.
His departure comes as Ghana’s agriculture sector continues to evolve, with stakeholders hopeful that the groundwork laid during his tenure will lead to even greater achievements in the years ahead.
