On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Hon. George Mireku Duker, together with the MCE, Hon. Benjamin Kesse and other officials commissioned three (3) infrastructural projects in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality amid durbar of chiefs, teachers, students and community members.
The Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources facilitated all the three (3) projects as funded by the Minerals Development Fund (MDF).
At the commissioning of the 6-unit classroom block, office, ICT room, toilet and urinal facilities for Esuoso Catholic basic school, Nana Kwesi Attobrah II, chief of Esuoso on behalf of his people, thanked leadership for such an edifice which will bring shift system at the basic school to an end.
The Chief further pleaded with the MP to start plans of putting up an additional JHS block for the community.
The Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive Officer also commissioned a 6-unit classroom block, office, ICT room, toilet and urinal facilities for Domeabra M/A basic school.
Nana Badu II, Odikro of Domeabra expressed his profound gratitude for such a magnificent school block built for his community.
At Fiaseman Senior High School (FIASSEC) in Tarkwa, a new 16-seater WC toilet facility was also commissioned.
According to the MP, the completion of the toilet facility will finally address initial challenges faced by the school.
“I must say, having a supportive MCE have led to the timely completion of all these projects. On behalf of the good people of Tarkwa-Nsuaem, I thank H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for reappointing Hon. Kesse.” Hon. Mireku Duker said
In their speech, Mr. Joseph Amihere, Mr. Ebenezer Anane Atuahene and Mr. Sagoe, headmasters of Esuoso Catholic basic school, Domeabra M/A basic school and FIASSEC respectively, applauded the MP and the MCE for their sterling performance in ensuring that, the projects are completed in time.
Hon. George Mireku Duker, used the opportunity to outline his achievements so far, and assured the community, timely completion of the Kwarekwano-Banso-Esuoso road which is under construction.
He also pointed out the newly built dining hall, two different storey buildings for boys dormitory and a 12-Unit classroom block under construction at FIASSEC as some landmark projects by the NPP government under his tenure as MP.
