The Mpraeso Circuit Court has refused bail to 28 suspects accused of storming the residence and kidnapping the Abetifihene, who also serves as the Acting President of the Kwahu Traditional Council.
This marks the second time the suspects have been remanded.
Despite appeals by the defense counsel, Lawyer Rtd. Captain Nkrabea Effah Darteh, the court did not grant bail.
Presided over by Her Ladyship Adwoa Akyemaa Ofosu, the court issued the ruling on November 14, 2024.
Speaking to the media after the proceedings, Lawyer Effah Darteh expressed his dissatisfaction with the court’s decision, emphasizing his disappointment over the denial of bail for his clients.
In contrast, Nana Saka Darko, the spokesperson for the Abetifi Palace, expressed satisfaction with the court’s ruling.
The case has been adjourned, and the suspects are scheduled to reappear in court on November 27, 2024.
