The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso constituency, Mr. Davis Ansah Opoku (OPK), has made a donation of essential items to several Senior High Schools in his constituency.
The beneficiary schools include Mpraeso Senior High School, Bepong Senior High School, St. Paul’s SHS, and Kwahu Ridge SHS.
The donated items included a double-decker fridge for the staff common room of each school, ten (10) street lights, ten (10) sewing machines, and eight vehicle tires for both Mpraeso and Bepong SHS. Additionally, each school received five dustbins.
While addressing the students on Friday, September 27, the MP encouraged them to take their academic work seriously and strive to complete their education in order to contribute meaningfully to society.
The visit was part of the MP’s regular working visits to the various schools to engage with and inspire the students.
At Bepong SHS, the MP highlighted the school’s impressive performance in last year’s WASSCE, attributing it to the dedication of the teachers.
The headmaster of Kwahu Ridge SHS requested the MP’s assistance in repainting the school’s buildings, some of which had peeling paint and broken louvers. In response, the MP pledged to contribute GHS 1,000 to help continue the repainting efforts.
At St. Paul’s SHS, the headmaster appealed to the MP, through the Municipal Assembly, to assist with the construction of new dormitories. The MP also promised to provide sound systems to all the schools to enhance entertainment during school events.
In a similar event held in Atibie-Kwahu, the MP, in collaboration with the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA) under the Business Advisory Center, distributed equipment to 160 beneficiaries. Items included hair dryers, sewing machines, protective gear, and more.
The MP urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment, emphasizing the government’s commitment, through the GEA, to equipping the youth with the tools needed to thrive in artisanry.
