Mpraeso MP donates to support teacher’s bungalow destroyed by fire at Nkyenekyene

The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso Constituency, Mr. Davis Ansah Opoku has donated to support teachers whose bungalow were razed down by fire some weeks ago.

The MP on Sunday, February 2, 2025, I visited Nkyenekyene in the Kwahu South Municipality to assess the aftermath of a fire that destroyed a teachers’ bungalow at the Presbyterian Basic School.

The incident, reportedly caused by a mentally challenged individual, resulted in significant property loss for the resident – educators.

In response, Mr. has donated GHS 10,000 to the Kwahu South Education Directorate to facilitate temporary accommodation for the affected teachers.

Additionally, he has also provided an undisclosed amount directly to the two female teachers who lost personal belongings and supplied them with bags of rice to support them during this challenging period.

To enhance future emergency responses, Mr. Ansah also allocated GHS 10,000 to the Ghana Fire Service to support fuel acquisition, ensuring that they are better equipped to handle such incidents promptly.

The suspect, a mentally – challenged man, has been apprehended and is currently under investigation by local authorities.

He used the opportunity and urged the community to support the educators and strengthen the emergency response systems.
