The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso Constituency, Davis Ansah Opoku, affectionately referred to as OPK has organised an end-of-year dinner ceremony for Zoomlion workers in the Kwahu South Municipality.

The ceremony was to appreciate the hard-working efforts by the staff of Ghana’s largest sanitation company, Zoomlion in the Municipality, who have over the years worked towards the serene and filth-free Mpraeso we see today.

Addressing the gathering made up of the Zoomlion staff and members of the public including party executives of the New Patriotic Party in the constituency at the MP’s office in Mpraeso.

The MP in his address asserted the need to appreciate the efforts of the Zoomlion workers as they are the backbone of sanity in the country.

‘I called you here today because of the importance of your duties towards this constituency. Most people do not know who or how they wake up to see our township being so clean and serene. In most cases when the zoomlion decides to go on strike, I’m not sure you and I can stay in town for a day. The work you’re doing is very important to the state and the constituency and that’s why we decided to show our gratitude for your services and we appreciate your efforts,

Mr. Ansah further urged the government to prioritise the payment process of zoomlion workers as its the only way of motivating them to do their work diligently.

‘I want to use this opportunity to urge the government to prioritise the payment of salaries to the zoomlion workers. Their work is very important and government must take care of them as compared to other labour workers’, he stated.
