Aduana Stars defeated Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the 16th round of the MTN FA Cup on Sunday at the Nana Agyemang Badu 1 Park, making them the most recent high-profile club to exit the competition.
Aduana came close to scoring in the 24th minute in the first half, but Kotoko’s goalkeeper Frederick Asare produced an excellent performance, with a wonderful save after Badu’s close header was denied from hitting the back of the net.
Both teams created chances but could not convert them, as the first 45 minutes ended goalless.
The only goal came in the 59th minute through Sam Adams, who sent Frederick Asare the wrong way from a penalty spot.
Kotoko last won the FA Cup in 2017.
