Ghanaian international and friend of Christian Atsu has revealed that the player is yet to be found after reports yesterday that he was rescued.
Wakaso disclosed this on his Twitter, stating that efforts are being made to find the former Chelsea player.
“Following yesterday’s update from the club that Christian had been pulled alive, we are yet to confirm Christian’s whereabout.
“As you can imagine, this continues to be a devastating time for his family and we are doing everything we can to locate Christian,” he wrote.
He also urged the media to desist from spreading false reportage, as official information will be given in due time.
“Official updates will be provided as more information comes to light. Please respect the family’s privacy and during this harrowing time, and refrain from spreading unsubstantiated news as this will only hamper the search efforts for Christian.”
