Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall sensation, Emmanuel Essel-Ackom popularly known in the music industry as Jah Lead has revealed that music is not just a hobby but an art of discipline.
Jah Lead who was speaking in an interview on Republic FM’s Artiste Profile with Nana Effah stated that he worked with a number of Jamaican Artiste whiles growing up and learned a lot from these Artistes including Samini who invited him to join his High Grade Family after he (Samini) listened to his songs from Brainy Beats.
Jah Lead explained that he combines music and his Police profession adding that he has time to make music after duty whiles he also receives support from the Police hierarchy base on how prolific and important he uses his music talent.
“Most people don’t know I’m an officer of the law. I’m with the Special Weapons And Tactics – (SWAT). When you go to work, you close and because of what I use the music for, I get some assistance from the Commander and the police hierarchy because they feel you’re doing a good job”.
He also revealed that he is looking forward to do music as a full time job.
“When they listen to your song, they feel you need the push and so those are the things help and basically, I can do everything in my spare time, because looking forward, I want to do music full time, it demands, it takes more time and more strength and more mind and discipline”.
Jah Lead further added that, people also forget that music is a discipline on it own and if an artiste does not make use of it and work towards it, one may rise and fall to the extent that nobody will ever recognize such artiste again.
“One thing is, people usually forget music is discipline on it own, and if a musician does not work with towards it, you can rise and easily fall to the ground and nobody will recognize you anymore but when you have the discipline you can do and redo and redo more often”
Jah Lead is currently out with new EP dubbed Love is Coming which is available on digital platforms.
