President of the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, has disclosed that the union will embark on a free health screening on March 5, 2024, at the Accra Tourist Information Centre at 8:00 a.m., followed by a seminar at noon.

According to the president of the union, the health screening is to ensure that members of the union are healthy and physically fit to perform and promote Ghana’s culture during Heritage Month, while topics like the relationship between tourism and music as well as music business investment will be discussed at the seminar.

“We are going to discuss how many options musicians have while they are changing their music dream and how music and tourism can work hand in hand to boost tourism in Ghana”, Simon said.

Speaking at the media launch of Ghana Culture Week by the Ghana Culture Forum at the Accra Tourist Information Centre in Accra on March 4, 2024, Mr. Bessa announced that the union is collaborating with the Akwaaba Village to organise an event for upcoming artistes at the forecourt of the National Theatre to showcase their talent to the world on Mach 6th.

He further informed the media that, on March 11, MUSIGA is raising awareness about a project dubbed Let’s Play Ghana Music to bring back the love for Ghanaian music.
