The Ghana Police Service has interdicted General Lance Corporal Shani Abdullai after he was found in possession of restricted pharmaceutical substances at Kpalsi, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region.
His interdiction, announced by the Police Administration, is to pave the way for a thorough investigation into his conduct in accordance with Police Service regulations.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the interdicted officer is seen with four boxes of a restricted pharmaceutical substance known as “Red,” each reportedly containing 250 grams. The substance, which falls under controlled pharmaceutical products, is not to be sold or distributed without proper authorization.
In the same video, the officer is heard admitting that he was arrested after an individual to whom he had sold the substance was apprehended. According to him, the buyer, under pressure during questioning, disclosed that he had purchased it from the officer, leading to his own arrest.
