Some workers under the Nation Builder’s Corps, NABCO, hit the streets of Accra to demand payment of their 10-months unpaid allowances.
The beneficiaries, whose programme will end in September after it was extended by the Government for a year, complained that life has become unbearable due to the worsening economic conditions.
They appealed to Government to make funds available to the Secretariat for onward disbursement.
They also presented a petition to the Vice President, which was received on his behalf by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Emmanuel Adumua-Bossman. Mr Adumua-Bossman noted that government is indeed a listening one, so what has been scripted will be carefully considered at the highest level.
The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) programme is a government initiative to address graduate unemployment to solve social problems.
The focus of the initiative will be on solving public service delivery in health, education, agriculture, technology, and governance and driving revenue mobilization and collection.
