The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has intercepted a shipment containing suspected cocaine at the Swiss Port, as part of its routine, intelligence-led operations.
The consignment, which was en route to the Netherlands, was seized on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, with the aid of NACOC’s K-9 Unit. The operation led to the discovery of 73 slabs of substances suspected to be cocaine, weighing approximately 89.74 kilograms.
Officials say four suspects have been arrested and are currently assisting with investigations. Preliminary intelligence suggests that a portion of the narcotics may have already been transported, and NACOC says it is closely monitoring the situation.
“This was an intelligence-led operation that uncovered the suspicious cargo. Our K-9 officers went in full force to ensure the arrest and confiscation,” a source close to the operation said.
The Commission is yet to release an official statement on the seizure.
The latest interception underscores NACOC’s commitment to disrupting drug trafficking networks and protecting Ghana’s ports from being used as transit points for illicit drugs.
