The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has intercepted a large consignment of suspected cannabis at the Swissport Terminal in Accra.
The bust, which took place on July 5, involved 738 compressed parcels of the illicit substance hidden in rubber polythene bags and packed into 40 boxes.

The parcels had been falsely labeled as assorted food items and were scheduled for shipment to the United Kingdom.
Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, while NACOC has declared two other suspects wanted.
The fugitives have been identified as Lincoln Nii Okaija, born on March 27, 1979, and Kate Davidson, who also goes by the alias “Esi.”
The Commission is appealing to the public to provide any relevant information that may lead to their arrest.
Meanwhile, NACOC has intensified its crackdown on narcotics operations with a major raid conducted on June 24 in the Eastern Region, targeting illegal drug activity in Akyem Oda and Akroso.
Fourteen suspects were arrested following weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering on individuals and businesses suspected to be engaged in drug distribution.
As part of the enforcement action, three chemical stores operating with licenses were shut down for selling unregistered and controlled substances without proper authorization.
Officers seized a large quantity of illegal drugs, including suspicious pharmaceutical products such as red and cannabis during the operation.
NACOC has reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating drug trafficking and abuse in Ghana and has called on the public to be vigilant and report any drug-related activities in their communities.
