Officials of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) have arrested a senior level manager of a manufacturing company over alleged attempt to smuggle cocaine out of Ghana.
The suspect, whose name remains undisclosed, is alleged to have concealed the substance in a consignment of packaged gari (dried cassava flakes).
He was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport following what officials described as an intelligence-led operation.
According to sources at KIA available to Graphic Online, the suspect is believed to be in charge of production at the manufacturing company.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the attempted shipment and to determine whether other individuals may be linked to the alleged syndicate.
