The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has ordered the immediate suspension of the Principal of the Nalerigu Nurses and Midwifery Training College, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Health.
This directive was issued during the Minister’s working visit to the Upper East, North-East, and Northern Regions, where he inspected health facilities and training institutions to evaluate their operational efficiency and service delivery.

The action follows allegations of unauthorized admissions at the college.
The Minister’s decision was based on preliminary findings, leading to the immediate suspension of the College’s Head pending further investigation.
Kwabena Mintah Akandoh emphasised that adherence to established admission protocols is mandatory and warned that any institution head found engaging in unauthorized practices would face severe sanctions.
The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and maintaining high standards in health training institutions nationwide.
