The National Anti-Cocoa Smuggling Task Force has arrested two persons for allegedly smuggling cocoa beans loaded in rubber containers (Kuffour gallon) while trying to cross River Afram to Togo.
Two people, a driver and his mate, have been arrested and sent to the Nkawkaw Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation.
Lawyer Charles Amenyaglo Director of Special Services, COCOBOD explained what transpired before they made the arrest but blamed security agencies for not supporting the Anti-Cocoa smuggling task force.
According to Lawyer Amenyaglo, anytime the task force makes an arrest, the security services cannot support them to fight Cocoa smuggling in the country and therefore appealed to the security services to provide their full support.
