The Ministry of National Security has denied claims by The Herald newspaper that officers from the Ministry and the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) were involved in the alleged abduction of Sylvia Patience Baah, Emirates Airlines’ Airport Services Manager at Kotoka International Airport.
In a press release, the Ministry categorically dismissed the allegations, stating that no officer from either agency participated in the purported incident.
The Ministry further assured the public that investigations have been launched into the circumstances surrounding the claim and pledged that anyone found culpable will face the full rigours of the law.
The Ministry urged the public to disregard The Herald’s report, describing it as baseless and misleading.
Background
The Herald reported that the alleged abduction occurred after a disagreement between Sylvia Baah and individuals linked to the National Security over their late arrival for an Emirates flight.
The incident reportedly involved heavily armed men detaining her under dubious circumstances and interrogating her at an undisclosed location before releasing her near Ashaiman.
The publication has drawn public concern, with calls for transparent investigations and accountability.
