The National Youth Authority (NYA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Development & Empowerment and Entertainment Week Ghana, has officially launched the “Red Means Stop” campaign to combat substance abuse, particularly the rising use of opioids among young people.
Speaking at the launch, NYA CEO George Opare Addo emphasized the urgent need for collective action to address the growing crisis.
He expressed gratitude to partners and stakeholders for their support and gave special recognition to the young influencers who joined the initiative.
“We hope these influencers will continue to spread the message and encourage their peers to avoid fleeting highs and focus on their personal growth,” Opare Addo stated.
The initiative aims to raise awareness through nationwide activations, with organizers planning an aggressive rollout to ensure widespread impact.
Also present at the launch was the Minister of Youth Development & Empowerment, alongside other key dignitaries, including the CEO of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
The “Red Means Stop” campaign will leverage educational programs, media outreach, and community engagements to drive home its message, reinforcing the importance of a drug-free future for Ghana’s youth.
