The National Communications Authority (NCA) has shut down three radio stations in the Western North Region for operating without the necessary authorization. The action follows a recent audit and inspection conducted to assess compliance.
According to Mr. Alexander Hedidor, NCA Zonal Manager for the Western, Central, and Western North regions, the affected stations—Ehan FM 90.3 (Juaboso),
Abiyaa Radio 94.7 (Sefwi Bodi),
Sompahene FM 102.3 (Sefwi Akontombra)—had no valid permits and were not listed in the NCA’s official system.
He emphasized that such unauthorized operations pose national security risks, as unmonitored content can be broadcast to the public. The NCA has ordered the immediate shutdown of the stations until further notice.
