NCCE marks constitution week with prison officers

The National Commission for Civic education (NCCE) has marked this year’s constitution week with an education and awareness creation on the 1992 constitution with Prison Officers at the Prison Headquarters in Accra.

The National Commission for Civic education (NCCE) has marked this year’s constitution week with an education and awareness creation on the 1992 constitution with Prison Officers at the Prison Headquarters in Accra.

Dr. Imran Mohammed, the Director of Programs at NCCE opened the education by enlightening officers on their duties during elections, especially this year being an election year. Officers were encouraged to maintain peace and order during and after the elections.

The Deputy Director General of Prisons in charge of Administration and Finance, DDGP. Patience Baffoe – Bonnie (Esq.) in her address urged officials of the National Commission for Civic Education to extend the education to schools and neighboring communities so as to make citizens aware of their rights and contribute to building a better Ghana.

Officials from the National Commission for Civic Education donated copies of the 1992 Constitution to the Prisons Service after the awareness.

Also present at the event were Dr. Henrietta Asante Sarpong, Director of Research and Gender Equality (NCCE), Dora Hammond, Director of Administration (NCCE) and Dr. ADP. Ama Boadu, Head of Public Health Unit at the Prisons Headquarters.
