Report reaching myrepubliconline.com indicates that Edem Agbana’s victory as the elected NDC parliamentary candidate for Ketu North Constituency has been called off after a recount.
Sources say the NDC’s Deputy National Youth Organiser, who was declared the winner initially with a total of 360 votes, had 358 votes after a recount against his opponent, John Adanu, who also had 359 votes after the first count but got 358 votes after the recount.
According to the Electoral Officer, two ballot papers that were counted in favour of Edem Agbana had no stamp. He also noted that John Adanu also had one ballot paper not stamped, which reduced his total votes to 358 as well.
The Electoral Officer indicated that there will be another election for the two candidates because of the tie.
