As indicated by the minority leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson on Tuesday, July 4, the minority in Parliament has boycotted today’s sitting to accompany and solidarize with MP for Assin North, James Gyakye Quayson who is standing trial in court.
James Gyakye Quayson who has been slapped with criminal charges after the Supreme Court found him guilty of not renouncing his Canadian citizenship before filling to contest in the 2020 parliamentary elections is expected to begin his trial today, Thursday, July 6, 2023.
Simultaneously, the minority leader, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is also appearing before the court in the ongoing case in which he is accused of causing financial loss to the state over the purchase of some ambulances.
According to the minority Chief Whip, Kwame Governs Agbodza, the minority stands united with their colleagues, and as such will not be able to honour the business of the house today and any other day their members have to appear in court.
