The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has opened nominations for its parliamentary primaries in the Tamale Central Constituency following the death of Member of Parliament Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed in the August 6 helicopter crash.

In a statement signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party announced that nomination forms will be available at the NDC Northern Regional Office from Friday, August 22, to Sunday, August 24.

According to the guidelines, nomination forms cost GH₵5,000, while filing fees are set at GH₵40,000. Female aspirants and persons with disabilities will pay half of the filing fee. A certified delegates’ list will be made available to aspirants after vetting.

Meanwhile, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated that it will not field a candidate in the upcoming by-election in honour of the late MP.
