Former Finance Minister and aspiring flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has pulled out of the NDC flagbearership race.
The former minister had earlier filed a lawsuit against the elections alleging that the party had provided an incomplete register.
However, Dr. Duffour discontinued the lawsuit allowing the court to strike out the case.
Meanwhile, with just few hours to the NDC primaries, the former finance minister in a press conference announced his decision to pull out completely.
According to him, the party has begun distributing ballot papers to various polling stations without his team’s involvement.
“My concerns that the party is not ready to conduct a free and fair elections is evident for all of us to see”, he stated.
This leaves John Dramani Mahama and Kojo Bonsu as the candidates seeking to lead the party in the 2024 elections.
The elections which is scheduled for Saturday May 13, 2023 has seen several controversies and discrepancies.
