The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has signaled its determination to reclaim political dominance in the 2028 general elections, asserting that no parliamentary seat held by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be secure.

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin made the remarks while addressing executives of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) in Parliament on Wednesday, March 18.

He urged party members to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, emphasizing that victory will rely on discipline, loyalty, and continuous engagement with voters.

“If elections were held today, NPP would hold the majority, but achieving that requires hard work and loyalty. We are confident that you will rise to the challenge,” he said.

The Effutu MP also criticised the current administration, citing unfulfilled campaign promises such as the proposed 24-hour economy, failure to increase cocoa producer prices, and recent utility tariff hikes as evidence of underperformance.

Afenyo-Markin encouraged TESCON members to dismiss claims that the NPP marginalises certain ethnic groups, stressing that the party remains inclusive and committed to representing all Ghanaians.

Reinforcing this stance, Akuapim North MP Samuel Awuku declared that the NPP will vigorously contest every NDC-held seat. “We will join our colleagues to mobilise across campuses. The 2028 election is all play, all play—no NDC seat is safe. Every NDC seat will be treated like any other,” he said.
