The North East Regional Police command have arrested two suspects for allegedly kidnapping a Fulani resident in the Mamprugu Moaduri district of the North East Region.
The Police noted that there were more cases of kidnapping recorded in the region 2021. The statistics indicate that in the last quarter of 2021, ten cases were recorded.
The Regional Security Council [REGSEC] convened an emergency to find ways to address the issue. Following the report, the police conducted series of investigations in other to arrest the culprit.
Speaking to the media, the Police said they have been able to arrest two people who are allegedly involve in the act.
According to the Police, the suspects, Issah Berliko and Karim Yartag will be arraigned before court.
The PRO of the North East Police command, Robert Angmain Anabiik said they are going to educate the individuals in the community to be able to feed the police with any information when they spot a suspect.
He also said that the police have extremely prepared intelligence officers on the ground to check and collect information for them to deal with any culprit.
