Netanyahu: There are ‘signs’ Ayatollah Khamenei is dead

There are “many signs” that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed Saturday in the joint US-Israeli attack on Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address.

Israel described the attack as “the largest air raid” in its history and Iran retaliated by targeting US military interests in countries across the Gulf. Follow our liveblog for the latest developments.

Netanyahu says ‘there are signs’ that Iran’s Khamenei is dead

⁠Israeli ​Prime ​Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said ​that ‌there ⁠were ‌many signs indicating Iran’s Supreme ⁠Leader Ayatollah Ali ​Khamenei “is no longer”, ‌without explicitly confirming ‌his death.

Netanyahu ​also said Khamenei’s compound had been ​destroyed, and ​Revolutionary Guard ​commanders and ​senior nuclear officials had ben destroyed.
