The Deputy Secretary of New Ghana Transport Union, Mr. Mohammed Habib has urged drivers to avoid over speeding especially during this period of heavy rainfalls.
He disclosed this to the press in an interview on Monday, September 6, adding that drivers must ensure they always consider the safety of passengers whilst driving.
“I will plead with the drivers to consider their safety as well as the passengers especially during this rainy season , a good driver is the one who goes home safely and not the hasty one “, he added.
However, he admonished passengers to also avoid putting unnecessary pressure on the drivers whilst driving.
“Some passengers can be dangerous, they sometimes mount pressure on the drivers to speed up, I will plead with them to put a stop to such behaviours which can land them into trouble”, he reiterated.
He appealed to the road safety authority and other stakeholders to intensify education regarding rules on the roads.
“The road safety authority are doing great jobs these days but I will plead with them to intensify the education”.
