The newly appointed Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, has vowed to elevate the Authority and drive advancements in Ghana’s petroleum downstream industry.
Delivering his maiden address to the management and staff of the NPA in Accra on Monday, Mr. Tameklo pledged to align his leadership with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to transform the industry.
Reflecting on his appointment, he recounted President Mahama’s charge during the presentation of his instrument of office. “It is not going to be business as usual,” he emphasized, assuring the staff of his commitment to innovation and progress.
“My philosophy is teamwork,” Mr. Tameklo declared, promising to lead with fairness and an open mind. He also reassured staff of his dedication to their welfare, stating, “I will ensure that your well-being is a priority.”
Mr. Tameklo called on the NPA team for their full cooperation to achieve the Authority’s mandate, urging, “In the spirit of collaboration, let us work together to make the NPA the very best.”
The NPA Welfare Chairman, Mr. Ernest Ayeh-Datey, congratulated Mr. Tameklo on his appointment and affirmed the staff’s readiness to support and collaborate with him to ensure the Authority’s success.
About Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo
Mr. Tameklo is a distinguished legal professional with deep expertise in petroleum law and governance. He holds an LLM in Natural Resources (Downstream Petroleum) from the University of Ghana and completed the Professional Law Course at the Ghana School of Law, earning admission to the Ghana Bar in 2013.
He is currently a Partner at Ayine & Partners Law Firm, where he specializes in criminal, civil, and commercial litigation. With over a decade of legal experience, he is widely respected for his strategic counsel and sound legal opinions, which have benefited numerous organizations.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Tameklo has demonstrated exceptional leadership within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), serving as Director of Legal Affairs.
He has also contributed to significant initiatives, including the 2024/2025 Transition Sub-Committee for Legal and Governance and the 2024 NDC Manifesto Committee.
Known for his strong research, analytical, and interpersonal skills, Mr. Tameklo is a collaborative team player with a track record of fostering positive change and delivering excellence.
His appointment marks a significant step in ensuring the growth and efficiency of Ghana’s petroleum downstream industry.
