Nana Owusu Sasu Bediatuo II was officially coronated as the chief of Kwamang-Kwahu in a vibrant ceremony held on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
The event brought together friends, family, traditional leaders, corporate entities, and community enthusiasts who celebrated the installation of a new chief after a long vacancy following the passing of the previous occupant of the Kwamang stool.
In an interview with Republic News, Nana Owusu Sasu Bediatuo II unveiled a ten-year development plan aimed at advancing the community. A key focus of this plan is education, which he considers essential for success.
He announced the construction of a community library and the establishment of an education fund to support talented but financially disadvantaged students in the area.
Additionally, the development plan includes the implementation of several pipe-borne water projects to provide clean drinking water to the community.
Following his coronation, Nana Owusu Sasu Bediatuo II performed a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a state-of-the-art Chief’s Palace.
During the ceremony, he addressed the youth, urging them to avoid social vices that hinder personal growth and community development. He also called on both large and small-scale mining firms to collaborate with the chiefs for the responsible extraction of natural minerals.
On Saturday, June 22, the newly installed chief organized a health walk and health screening event to foster stronger ties between the chiefs and the community. In a press interview, Nana Owusu Sasu Bediatuo II stated that his office will conduct health screenings every three months to provide basic healthcare support to individuals who cannot afford medical expenses.
