A combined team from the Provider and Client Relations Unit of the Corporate Affairs Directorate and the deployed staff to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, on Monday, March 17, 2025, spent the day with patients accessing healthcare and visitors.

The field visitation and sensitization exercise strengthened the public awareness of the expanded Benefit Package of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

The team led by a senior Manager, Judge Sarkodie interacted with patients and visitors in the main Out Patients Department (OPD), Medicals Department, Eye Clinic, OPS and Gynecology, Maternity Ward, Orthopedic, Ears, Nose and Throat (ENT), Dental Health, and Pediatric Departments.

Other members of the team from the Head Office were a Manager, Issac Boamah Darko, a Senior Officer Client, Relations Unit, Nana Akyaa Adriana Afriyie, and an Officer, Client Relations Unit, Ms. Hadassah Agbenyo.

The team satisfactorily responded to questions and clarified issues having to do with the NHIS members rights and responsibilities, expired membership mobile renewals, medications list, NHIS and Ghana cards linkage, MyNHIS App for self and multiple enrolments and illegal charges (copayments) by some credentialled healthcare providers.

The team advised NHIS active members to always share their grievances through the NHIA Call Centre, the Pulpit initiative at some credentialed healthcare facilities and social media channels for immediate attention.

The team assisted people to download the MyNHIS App and assisted them to sign up for the Scheme while others renewed their membership using the short code *929#.
